This 2013 Chardonnay comes from a steep hillside vineyard established in the Willow Creek American Viticultural Area – one of the most northern AVA’s in California.
A perfumed, floral nose is followed by pineapple and tropical fruit flavor. This is a crisp non-oaked Chardonnay more reminiscent of Burgundy then Napa. It is ripe, but balanced by a cooler climate acidity that is typical for the more northern and mountainous Humboldt County. This wine is ready now, but has 2-5 years of staying power not typical in fat, over-ripe whites.
